Sviatlana Petushkova’s Swan (2026) is a hand-signed cyanotype on Fabriano Unica paper, 35 × 50 cm, edition of 40, in extremely fine condition.
Description from the seller
Swan is an evocative cyanotype exploring femininity, grace, and the expressive relationship between the human and nature.
A woman emerges from layers of light, translucent material, her silhouette rising against an expansive sky. The fabric unfolds around her like the wings of a swan, creating a striking interplay between softness and strength, movement and stillness. Viewed from a low angle, the figure takes on an almost monumental presence, connecting the human form with the surrounding landscape.
The composition evokes the quiet elegance of a swan — its natural poise, sculptural beauty, and sense of freedom. Flowing lines, textured surfaces, and dramatic contrasts between light and shadow transform an intimate photographic moment into an image with an almost mythological atmosphere.
Created using the historic cyanotype process, the work is rendered in characteristic Prussian blue tones. The rich monochromatic palette emphasizes the delicate textures of the fabric and the dramatic shapes of the clouds, giving the image a dreamlike, timeless quality. The handmade nature of the process adds a distinctive tactile character, placing the work between contemporary photography and fine-art printmaking.
Artist Sviatlana Petushkova presents Swan as an exploration of the female figure, movement, and the poetic qualities of the natural world. Printed on Fabriano Unica semi-cotton paper, the work combines photographic detail with the material beauty of traditional alternative printing techniques.
Produced as part of a limited edition of 40, this cyanotype offers collectors an original piece of contemporary photographic art with a distinctive visual identity.
