Description from the seller

A Refined and Elegant Mid-Century Classic: Stowa Automatic 25 Rubis in Beautiful Original Condition

We are proud to present a beautifully preserved and highly collectible vintage timepiece from the golden era of mechanical watchmaking (circa 1960–1965), crafted by the prestigious manufacturer Stowa. Founded by Walter Storz in 1927 in Hornberg, Germany, and later relocated to Pforzheim—the legendary heart of German jewelry and watchmaking—Stowa stands as one of the most respected names in European horological history. This elegant dress watch perfectly embodies the clean, sophisticated post-war European style, offering exceptional wrist presence and legendary German engineering precision.

The Historical Heritage & Mechanical Heart
During the 1960s, Stowa achieved international acclaim by blending high-precision German manufacturing from the Black Forest region with top-tier technical components. Inside this piece beats a high-grade automatic movement featuring a premium 25-jewel (rubis) train, renowned for its uncompromising reliability. The automatic self-winding system functions beautifully and runs with excellent precision, keeping time reliably.

Please note that the robust stainless steel screw-down caseback remains tightly sealed in its authentic, untouched state, meaning the internal movement is completely original and free from any amateur interventions. A perfectly reliable workhorse for collectors.

The Dial & Aesthetics
This watch features a remarkably well-preserved original cream/silver dial with a stunning textured, guilloché-style outer minute track that catches the light beautifully. Adorned with elegant gold-tone raised arrow indices, a stylized Arabic numeral 12, and sharp dauphine hands, it radiates a warm, understated mid-century charm. The dial remains in untouched original condition, showcasing a very clean layout highly prioritized by serious horological enthusiasts over redialed or heavily restored examples.

The Case Design & Dimensions
The classic gold-plated case exhibits elegant, sweeping lugs that give the watch a powerful yet sophisticated wrist presence. It measures a prominent 33 mm in diameter (excluding the crown) x 41 mm lug-to-lug, sitting beautifully flat and comfortable on the wrist. The case shows only honest and light signs of regular historical wear that add to its authentic vintage character.

Specifications:
• Manufacturer: Stowa (Pforzheim, Germany)
• Period: Circa 1960–1965
• Movement: High-Grade Automatic, 25 Rubis, Fully Functional & Precise
• Dimensions: 33 mm (without crown) x 41 mm (lug-to-lug)
• Case Material: Gold-Plated with a heavy Stainless Steel screw-down caseback
• Dial: Original cream-silver dial with textured outer ring and raised indices (Excellent condition)
• Strap: 18 mm high-quality, unused new leather strap in premium vintage style
An investment-grade addition to any serious vintage collection. Happy bidding!

Please keep in mind that these historic mechanical wristwatches are described exactly according to their condition, which was verified during cataloging, and are sold in their current authentic state without any documented service history. Although the watches are fully functional and keep accurate time at the moment of the auction, their long-term accuracy, power reserve, and water resistance cannot be guaranteed due to wear on parts caused by age, historical lubricants, changes in temperature and pressure, shocks, and changes in position during transport or wearing. This piece is sold as a collectible and investment item, so for maximum use of its potential and to ensure long-term reliability, regular checks and adjustments by a watch specialist are highly recommended.

"Important shipping restriction: Please note that due to strict regulatory and tax administrative complications regarding the EU SME scheme (Small Business Scheme) and specific customs regulations, shipping to Spain (including the Canary Islands, Ceuta, and Melilla) is strictly unavailable. Bids from buyers residing in these regions cannot be fulfilled, and orders will be canceled. Thank you for your understanding."
