Augusto - Scared Hybrid - XXL

Scared Hybrid – Original Contemporary Surrealist and Expressionist Masterpiece

Up for auction is this original artwork, titled "Scared Hybrid", straight from my studio!
First things first: I am clearly a much better painter than I am a photographer. I gave it my absolute all, tried every angle, and fought with the lighting—so please forgive any glare! Trust me, it looks much better in real life than my photography skills suggest.

About the Artwork

A powerful testament to emotional vulnerability and internal conflict, "Scared Hybrid" presents an unsettling and deeply moving portrait of fear and metamorphosis.
The composition features a large, bald head with an exaggeratedly wide, distressed eye that dominates the canvas. This visceral figure is defined by strong, graphic contours and a rich color palette of deep crimson, black, and burnt orange. Below the head, the form dissolves into twisted, vine-like structures and two skeletal hands clutched against a dark void, perfectly capturing a moment of profound, raw apprehension and the struggle of a hybrid entity trapped in transition.
Influenced by modernist Surrealism and figurative Expressionism, the artwork balances raw intensity with poetic ambiguity, utilizing bold colors and distorted forms to deliver a deeply immersive visual experience.
