Description from the seller
Blake and Mortimer – Collection of 19 albums with red and gold toiled spines
Lot description
Beautiful collection of 19 albums from the famous Franco-Belgian comic series Blake and Mortimer, created by Edgar P. Jacobs.
This set stands out for its uniform presentation: cloth-bound covers, red toiled spines with gold lettering. The spines form a striking graphic whole, with the famous emblem of La Marque jaune on the first volumes and the portraits of Blake and Mortimer on the following volumes.
The collection gathers the major classic adventures imagined by Edgar P. Jacobs as well as several adventures created by the authors who succeeded him.
The albums were published between 2007 and 2010, depending on the editions and print runs. The first twelve volumes belong to the special collection associated with the Le Monde newspaper.
The seven last albums complete the collection with red toiled spine editions published under the Blake and Mortimer Editions name. They preserve the coordinated graphic presentation of the whole, with the portraits of Blake and Mortimer in yellow on the spines.
An iconic collection for lovers of classic comic books
This collection has particular appeal thanks to its red toiled spines and its coordinated visual identity. The volumes gathered allow readers to revisit the foundational adventures of the series, then continue with the albums created by the authors of the next generation.
Condition and presentation
The albums are offered together, in a single lot of 19 volumes.
