Scuola italiana (XVIII-XIX) - Figura di santo - San Giuseppe ?

A small oil painting in the Italian school depicting a saint, perhaps Saint Joseph. Certainly of the Italian school, it can be placed with good probability between the end of the 18th century and the middle of the 19th century.

The painting is signed, though not easily readable, and it is not certain whether the signature is contemporary or later.

From the painting one can clearly perceive excellent painterly quality, but as the photos show, it needs a serious restoration intervention. The canvas must be restored in its weave in some spots and needs to be reset on the frame as it is detached.
