daveY - GOHAN SSJ2 vs CELL x WOODEN CARVING

Here is a Pop/Contemporary artwork of extraordinary craftsmanship, visual dynamism, and extreme rarity signed by the artist daveY: piece number 1 of only 5 copies in the world (1/5) from the Wood Masters Edition series.
The work celebrates one of the most dramatic, epic, and emotional moments of the entire Dragon Ball Z saga: the final confrontation between Gohan Super Saiyan 2 and Perfect Cell, reinterpreted through the three-dimensional illusion of a multicolored woodcut carving infused with the style of traditional Japanese Ukiyo-e woodblock printing.
The composition shows young Gohan releasing the devastating azure Kamehameha against the violet energy wave hurled by Cell, carved with detailed levels of material overlap. In the background stand out Mount Fuji, a traditional pagoda, and the classically inspired rippling wave (Hokusai), all framed by wooden cartouches with integrated Japanese ideograms in the artwork’s design.
Visual and Aesthetic Analysis:
Artistic Synergy and Concept: The artist daveY blends the emotional power and Pop nostalgia of ’90s anime culture with the artisanal craft of wood carving and traditional Japanese art. The contrast between the energy eruption of the two auras and the warm veins of the wood grain gives the scene an epic, solemn, and timeless atmosphere.
Graphic Effect and Visual Rendering: The ultra-high-definition finish enhances the three-dimensionality of the carved layers, the color contrasts between the energy flashes (blue, purple, gold, and green) and the natural texture of the wooden material. Each wave, seam in the outfit, or detail of the carving stands out with extraordinary visual sharpness.
Style and Finish: The canvas surface guarantees maximum color rendering, brightness of vivid tones, and sharpness of details, with a smooth, even, and durable finish over time.
