Sitting on a gray fabric chair, hands resting on the armrests, a woman looks straight ahead. Her beige trench coat is open in the front, and the rest of the body is suggested beneath the fabric. The white wall and light parquet leave all the room to the gaze.
The painting nods to Hopper and to the Waiting Portrait, that immobile figure who seems about to rise. It is unclear whether she is awaiting a visitor or a decision. The spectator enters the room as if into an office where someone has been summoned.
A figure of silence, between fragility and control.
Mixed technique: acrylic paint on pigment ink print, matte varnish.
Varnish applied by hand, for depth of color and lasting protection of the work.
Support: premium canvas stretched on a wooden frame, ready to hang.

SAULNIER is one of the creations bringing together artists Le Yack, Neo Pablo and Popsan within Atelier Joconde, a family studio where three sensibilities coexist: neo-realism, pop, and free figuration. Under this name, the Atelier explores portraiture and still figures, those moments when a person seems suspended between two gestures: waiting, letting go, lowering the eyes, looking into the distance.
The through line is the silence of the rooms and looks. The white interiors, the windows, the worn parquet floors and the city façades serve as a backdrop for figures who say nothing, leaving it to the viewer to guess what comes next. The painting, precise and laid down, converses with the Hopper legacy and post-war portraiture, in a cold light and a waiting that never ends.
Each work is a unique piece.

Galerie Joconde est un atelier familial et un laboratoire de création contemporaine, où trois artistes : Le Yack, Popsan et Neo Pablo, croisent leurs univers pour produire des collections originales. L'atelier travaille aussi bien en création collective qu'en démarches individuelles : chaque œuvre proposée peut être le fruit du travail d'un, de deux, ou des trois artistes réunis.
Toutes les œuvres proviennent directement de l'atelier des artistes, sans intermédiaire. Les originaux sont des pièces uniques. Chaque œuvre est signée et accompagnée d'un certificat d'authenticité, et expédiée avec un emballage professionnel adapté au transport international.
