Piero Marussig (1879-1937), Attrib. - Paesaggio con case e ponte

Piero Marussig (Trieste 1879-Pavia 1937); from his youth experiences between the late nineteenth century and the early twentieth, he begins a more conscious pictorial search, where the subjects are a pretext to refine his visual pursuit of synthesis and a more primitive formal impact (plasticity of volumes, purity of color, and firm chiaroscuro), for which he formed the group of the Novecento movement.
The painting presented is from the mature period, measures 16x24 cm, framed outside the frame, it presents a patina, with a small intervention of paint loss (repaired, near the patch on the back). It depicts a landscape with houses, trees, and a bridge crossing a sheet of water. The work comes from a private collection.
