LASVEGUIX
French contemporary artist Lasveguix develops a singular universe at the crossroads of street art, collage, and contemporary painting. His work questions the memory of walls, the passage of time, and the poetry of impermanence, transforming urban scars into emotionally charged pieces.
Introduced to graffiti by his cousin SUOZ, he shapes his visual language through contact with the walls of Paris and London. His work fits into an artistic lineage where the great names of urban and contemporary art converse. One finds the heritage of Jacques Villeglé and Raymond Hains in the art of torn posters, the sculptural power of Vhils, the raw energy of Jean-Michel Basquiat, the silhouettes of Jérôme Mesnager, the poetry of Miss Tic, the urban memory of Ernest Pignon-Ernest, the stencil of Jef Aérosol, the pixelated universe of Invader, and the iconic strength of Shepard Fairey. Without ever imitating them, Lasveguix asserts a personal, immediately recognizable voice.
Torn posters, spray paint, acrylic, Posca, and reliefs compose true “skins of walls,” where tears, superimpositions, and traces of time become witnesses to a collective memory. Each piece reveals a dialogue between material, history, and emotion, inviting the viewer to rediscover the beauty of what the city seemed to have forgotten.
Lasveguix regularly exhibits in France and abroad. His works join private collections in many countries and reflect a growing interest from collectors. His career leads him to participate in art fairs, prestigious exhibitions, and charity galas that bring together collectors, patrons, and institutions. His work has been shown at events organized at Roland-Garros, the District 13 Art Fair at Hôtel Drouot, in Monaco, and at several emblematic venues of the contemporary art scene.
Through each of his creations, Lasveguix gives a second life to the remnants of the city. He does not depict the walls; he reveals their soul, making urban heritage, memory, and creation dialogue in a deeply contemporary and timeless work.
