Description from the seller
Beneath the Surface (2026), by Alejandro Faura, is an oil painting on canvas that explores memory, identity and the emotional universe that remains hidden beneath the appearance of the visible. The human figure, immersed in an atmosphere dominated by varying shades of blue, appears surrounded by red fish that act as recurring symbols in his visual language, evoking memories, absences and fragments of an interior reality in constant transformation. The contrast between the depth of the blues and the intensity of the reds establishes a chromatic tension that reinforces the introspective character of the composition. From a technical standpoint, Faura develops a contemporary figurative painting through gestural and expressive brushwork, color superpositions, transparencies and variations of matter that alternate zones of definition with others of greater painterly freedom, integrally embedding the figure in the space. Born in Cuba, Alejandro Faura studied Fine Arts in his homeland and has developed his artistic career between Germany and Spain, consolidating a personal research focused on memory, identity and the relationship between reality and imagination. His work has reached international projection through various international art platforms and specialized auction spaces. Furthermore, his work has been published in Edge of Humanity Magazine, an international magazine dedicated to photography, art and contemporary visual expression. In Beneath the Surface, the artist delves into his symbolic universe through a painting that turns the figurative image into a space of introspection, where the depicted elements transcend their physical presence to suggest what remains hidden in human experience.
The work is sold directly by the artist and shipped from his studio, it is in excellent condition, featuring a protective layer of varnish that protects and at the same time enhances the colors of the painting, it is sent with a tracking code and certificate of authenticity, rolled inside a cardboard tube.
