Description from the seller
This original artwork by Bart Hamelink, titled Einstein Future, is a powerful and expressive painting about creativity, making mistakes, and the courage to explore new paths.
The composition features three striking, almost primitive faces with large eyes, sharp teeth, and quirky expressions. The combination of deep black planes, bold red lines, and a warm, broken white background gives the work a raw and intense look.
Under the three figures sits the well-known quotation by Albert Einstein:
“A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new.”
These words form the core of the painting. They remind us that making mistakes is an indispensable part of learning, growing, and discovering new possibilities.
Einstein Future is about the freedom to experiment, to think beyond existing boundaries, and not to fear failure. The three distinctive characters seem, in their own ways, to symbolize human curiosity, insecurity, and perseverance.
The spontaneous brushstrokes, irregular contours, and deliberately imperfect forms reflect Hamelink's recognizable artistic style. The work combines humor, raw expression, and a philosophical message into a striking and contemporary composition.
Einstein Future is more than a painting. It is a reminder that progress begins with the courage to try something new, even when the outcome is uncertain.
The painting is created with acrylic on canvas and is a unique, original artwork, not a reproduction or print. The work is signed by the artist and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
Note: The interior photos are illustrative only and show how the artwork can look in a modern setting. Colors may vary slightly from the original due to lighting and photography.
Because of its size, the painting will be carefully rolled up and securely packed in a sturdy, square shipping tube, so it stays well protected even during international transport.
The artwork is delivered without the pictured frame and without a wooden stretcher frame.
Seller's Story
Hamelink combines contemporary themes with influences from the past and often works in an energetic, expressive style. He draws inspiration from the tradition of artists such as Herman Brood, who was known for his raw, spontaneous approach, as well as Riek van Iersel, who sought a powerful emotional expression in his work.
Hamelink is best known for his paintings and drawings, in which he pushes the boundaries of traditional painting and tackles themes such as identity, culture and social issues. His work can be characterised by a direct, unpolished approach to the medium, which exudes a certain spontaneity and energy. Like Brood and Van Iersel, Hamelink plays with the tension between personal experience and the broader social context, often with a focus on contemporary society.
His style is often raw, unfiltered and full of expression, using powerful colours and dynamic shapes that enhance the urgency of his themes. Bart Hamelink seems to bridge the gap between traditional expressive movements and contemporary art with his work, while at the same time critically reflecting on modern times.
