Madonna con Bambino, oil on canvas, an eighteenth-century Italian Renaissance-style painting by Scuola italiana (XVIII), depicting the Madonna with Child against a dark background with a carved golden frame included.
Description from the seller
Madonna with Child – oil on canvas, copy of a Raphael-inspired model, 18th century
Oil painting on canvas depicting the Madonna with the Child, clearly Raphael-inspired. The Virgin, in a red robe and light veil, gently supports the Child resting in her lap, against a dark background that enhances the luminosity of the flesh tones. A work of good craftsmanship, probably from the late 18th century.
Complete with an elegant gilded wooden frame carved with a leaf motif, in Empire style. Signs of aging consistent with the period (slight losses of gilding on the frame, craquelure on the canvas).
Measurements: 83 x 64 cm (including frame) / 66 x 48 cm (canvas)
Canvas: 66 cm x 48 cm
The frame visible in the photo is included as a courtesy and is not an integral part of the artwork. Any damage to the frame will not be a valid reason for complaints or order cancellations
