Description from the seller

Vittorio Amadio
Nor an empty outstretched hand
Acrylic on canvas 70x50

VITTORIO AMADIO
born in 1934 in Castel di Lama, province of Ascoli Piceno. Sculptor, painter, engraver and ceramist.
Very young he emigrates to Venezuela where he finds work in the petroleum industry. His first creative experiences date back to that time (1953).
A restless spirit, attracted by the physical understanding of the world, he delves into phenomena of parapsychology related to an aspect of his personality. He visits the U.S.A., Canada, Africa, the East, etc. He returns to Italy in the mid-1960s and dedicates himself to sculpture (stone and wood), and painting.
During this time he holds rare exhibitions in the countries visited, besides Germany, Belgium and France. He returns definitively to Italy at the end of the 1960s. In ’75 he opens the studio in Palazzo Malaspina where he founds the Association “La Sfinge Malaspina” to promote cultural activities, still active to date. For several years he keeps away from exhibition activity, preferring to deepen knowledge of engraving and intaglio techniques and, with repeated incursions into the field of medal art, intensifies experimental painting and sculpture, producing a vast quantity of works. In ’94 he begins ceramics; that same year he holds a course on intaglio engraving and serigraphy at the Villaggio del Fanciullo in Ascoli Piceno, aimed at disabled people. In 1999, in the art studio in the United States, with some friends, he starts the Cultural Association “Creative Italian Art.”
In 2001, in Castel di Lama and at the former tobacco factory, after careful restoration he founds and coordinates “Arte on” Contemporary Art Museum and art workshop, promoting cultural activities and the local territory, nationally and internationally, together with the management of professional training courses through information technologies and multimedia and artistic technologies.
