Rare collaboration between V.Nason & C. and Italo Gori, this single Murano blue cobalt glass bird sculpture is hand blown with a 925 sterling silver plate on the tail engraved “I. Gori”, dating to the 1980s–1990s, with original label and good overall condition (Vetro di Murano, 9x9x6.5 cm, 300 g).
Description from the seller
Rare collaboration between V. Nason & C. and I. Gori.
Stylized little bird in Murano glass in intense cobalt blue, made by the historic furnace V. Nason & C. (Murano, Italy).
The piece is solid glass, blown and hand-finished, with a compact shape and elegant lines typical of Murano production in the 1980s–1990s. It still retains the original circular transparent label “V. NASON & C. · MURANO ITALY”.
A distinctive feature is the 925 silver plate applied mainly on the tail (with additional details on the eyes and the back), engraved “I. Gori”. This is the mark of Florentine silversmith Italo Gori, a workshop active since 1890 and specializing in handcrafted solid silver objects.
An object of great charm that unites two Italian artisanal excellences: Murano artistic glass and Florentine silverware.
Conditions: Generally good condition, with normal signs of aging consistent with its age. Original label present.
Materials: Murano glass + 925 silver
Provenance: Italy (Murano / Florence)
A rare collectible item, ideal for Murano glass enthusiasts as well as collectors of Italian silverware.
