Angelo Fiessi (1891–1977) – Landscape – Oil – 22.5 × 28.5 cm
Interesting painting by Angelo Fiessi (Castenedolo, 1891 – Brescia, 1977), Lombard painter of the 20th century known mainly for his landscape production.
The work depicts a suggestive rural landscape immersed in vegetation, executed with immediate and strongly expressive painting.
The composition is characterized by quick, broad, and material brushstrokes, through which the artist builds the landscape using mainly green, gray, ocher, and brown tones.
Particularly interesting is the rendering of the vegetation and the central path, achieved through color overlays and rapid brushstrokes that give movement and depth to the scene.
The work well represents that search for landscape and painting from life that characterizes a significant portion of Angelo Fiessi’s output.
