O. Delgado - Flor de Jamaica - XL

"Flor de Jamaica" is part of a series of paintings exploring the relationship between the female figure, nature, and the Caribbean's visual codes. It presents a female figure emerging from a vegetal environment through a vibrant palette and energetic brushwork. The flowers crowning her head and the mix of reds, pinks, yellows, and blues convert the portrait into a celebration of color, identity, and presence. The vegetation, built through gestural forms and intense contrasts, transcends the background to become an essential part of the composition. Between floral references and a contemporary aesthetic, the figure conveys strength, elegance, and an intimate connection with nature.
