PINK MORRO - Night Icarus - XL - No Reserve Price

NIGHT ICARUS is a large-format painting about movement. On a black background, a vertical shape of pure color (electric blue, yellow, orange and neon pink) climbs the canvas like a flame. The contrast with black makes each color shine even brighter.

The title comes from Icarus, the one who flies too close to the sun. In the canvas you can read it in the upward direction of the composition and in the turquoise drips that fall on the left side, where what rises ends up coming down.

The work combines broad, impasto white strokes, drips, splashes, lime neon spray and quick black gestural marks, almost graffiti-like. Acrylic, spray, graphite and waxes are layered in crossing paths that accelerate, and the eye travels across the canvas without pausing at a single point. Movement and light are both the method of creation and the subject of the work.

ABOUT PINK MORRO

Pink Morro (Spain, 1979) is a contemporary artist whose practice arises from the intersection between graffiti, design and abstract painting.

Her work is characterized by the intuitive use of color, gesture and the layering of materials, creating compositions where spontaneity and structure coexist.

Throughout her career she has developed artistic and creative projects and collaborations with brands such as Adidas, Nike, Desigual, Siemens, Tous, Kappa, Absolut, Pompeii and Jovi.

Her work has been presented in cities such as Barcelona, Madrid, Paris, Milan, Copenhagen, London and Mexico City, and she currently belongs to private collections in Europe and the United States.

Her current production focuses on original works and site-specific artistic projects, exploring the emotional and transformative power of color.
