Description from the seller

Original work signed D. Farbe and dated 1974, executed in oil on cardboard, depicting a view of Paris.

The composition shows a Parisian street lined with old buildings and shops. In the foreground, several bare trees structure the perspective, while a storefront bearing the inscription ‘CAFÉ’ appears on the right. The whole conveys the characteristic atmosphere of a Parisian neighborhood, with facades, windows and shopfronts.

The painting is executed in a warm palette mixing ochres, yellows, blues, greens and browns, with a particularly graphic treatment. The dark outlines, thick brushstrokes and textural effects emphasize the lines of the architecture and give the scene an expressive character.

The work bears the handwritten signature ‘D. Farbe’ as well as the date 1974. The full identity of the artist could not be established with certainty despite the research conducted.
