Montblanc 1858 Iced Sea Automatic Date, 2022, with automatic Calibre MB 24.17, a 41 mm stainless steel case, green dial and steel band, in very good condition with minimal wear.
Description from the seller
Here we present a piece of extraordinary prestige and charm: a Montblanc 1858 Iced Sea Automatic Date in the highly sought emerald green color. A timepiece that combines high-end sports watchmaking with a hypnotic naturalistic design.
This watch is Montblanc’s first professional diver certified (ISO 6425), but it is famous mainly for its revolutionary dial. The manufacture has managed to recreate the three-dimensional texture, the veining, and the depth of glacial ice (inspired by the Mer de Glace on Mont Blanc) through a complex and ancient artisanal technique called gratté-boisé. The deep emerald green color captures the light, evoking the reflections of alpine lakes surrounded by glaciers.
The technical setup is impeccable. The 41 mm stainless steel case is crowned by a unidirectional green two-tone ceramic bezel, glossy and scratch-resistant. The watch is water resistant up to 30 ATM (300 meters) and the solid case back features a magnificent 3D laser engraving depicting a diver and an iceberg. Indices and hands are generously filled with Super-LumiNova for perfect legibility in the dark, as documented in the photographs. The heart of the piece is the automatic movement Caliber MB 24.17.
The condition is to be considered in excellent overall condition. The watch has been preserved with extreme care. The sapphire crystal and the ceramic bezel insert are immaculate, free of any blemish. The steel case is gleaming and robust. On the bracelet and, especially, on the deployant clasp, there are only extremely rare, negligible, and almost imperceptible micro-scratches (hairlines) on the surface due to normal and careful handling of the object, which do not detract from its beauty. The engraved case back is also perfectly clear.
