Art Nouveau hanging lamp in forged iron (ferro battuto) and original opaline glass from Italy, circa 1910–1920, 40 cm high with a 13 cm diameter globe, one fitting, not in working order and requiring professional inspection.
Description from the seller
Art Nouveau pendant lamp in wrought iron and original opal glass – Italy, circa 1910–1920
An elegant pendant lamp with floral charm, linked to the Art Nouveau taste, or Italian Liberty, of the early 20th century, likely dating from the 1910s to the 1920s. The wrought-iron structure unfolds through a refined arrangement of leaves and petals, framing the vertical support and surrounding the original opal glass shade of the period. The soft, plant-inspired shapes give the whole piece a particular decorative lightness.
The metal surface shows a lived-in patina, with dark tones and golden highlights that enhance the reliefs of the workmanship. The opal glass creates a pleasing contrast with the structure and completes the lamp’s delicate character.
Its compact dimensions make it suitable for highlighting an entrance hall, a cozy corner, or a room furnished with period furniture, offering a suggestive focal point even in a contemporary setting.
Dimensions: height 40 cm; shade diameter 13 cm.
Conditions: visible signs of aging and patina, as shown in the photographs. The wiring is still the original period wiring and has not been tested; therefore, operation is not guaranteed and the installation should be inspected and serviced by a professional before use. The lit glow in the staged image is illustrative.
Careful packing, with special protection for the glass, and trackable shipping within Europe.
