Lantern (2) - Bronze, Brass, Crystal - Antique Carriage Lanterns

Magnificent pair of antique carriage lanterns, made of gold-toned metal and crystal, with the elegant construction characteristic of the lighting systems used on animal-drawn vehicles.

They feature large oval front crystals, side panels protected by cross rods, and distinctive red rear crystals. The top is finished with wide perforated ventilation chimneys, while the long lower stalks allowed their attachment to both sides of the carriage.

Particularly interesting is that both lanterns retain inside them the fuel reservoirs with their corresponding wicks, a fundamental element of their original operation and increasingly uncommon in pieces preserved only as decoration.

The metal retains an attractive antique patina, with small marks, tonal variations and signs of the passage of time, contributing to the overall magnificent presence and authenticity.

A pair with great character, especially attractive for carriage collecting, antique lighting, equestrian antiques or historical decoration.

Each lantern measures approximately 46 cm high × 13 cm wide.
