Glenmorangie 16 Year Old Nectar d’Or is a new single malt aged for 14 years in bourbon casks and then finished for two years in sweet white wine casks (Sauternes, Monbazillac, Moscatel, and Tokaji). This finishing in French Sauternes and Monbazillac casks imparts aromas of orchard fruits and buttery pastries. The Spanish Moscatel casks add sweet, syrupy dessert flavors, while the Hungarian Tokaji casks enhance this whisky with notes of hazelnut and honey. Inspired by his memory of stepping into a French pastry shop, Dr. Bill Lumsden has, for the first time, created a whisky with a complexity akin to that of a dessert. Glenmorangie Tale of the Forest is a limited-edition single malt Scotch whisky made from roasted barley with woodland botanicals (juniper berries, birch bark, and heather flower). It is bottled at 46% ABV. The back label describes Glenmorangie Tale of the Forest as having aromas of "pine and juniper mingled with smoke," with notes of "dark green eucalyptus and bitter orange" on the palate, finishing with "a smooth, woody finish." Limited edition.
