The crowned Madonna with the Child Jesus holy-water font is a traditional iconographic subject in Christian art, in which the Virgin Mary and Jesus (often depicted with crowns on their heads, placed by angels or part of the sculpture/painting) symbolize Mary's heavenly sovereignty as Queen of Heaven and Christ's as King of the Universe. There are two small cherub-like angels on the sides with two doves, all entirely hand-painted.
