AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Kever never disappoints... atmospheric oil on canvas of 50x45. Can be hung on the wall like this
Former art dealership Borzo

Kever is considered part of the Larense School. He painted landscapes, portraits, still lifes and a number of cityscapes, but was best known for his many sober rural interiors from the then-poor Gooi region. In his best works he thus outshines his 'rival' Albert Neuhuys. Kever's art is sensitive and harmonious in tone and light relationships, but always restrained and seldom emotionally charged. He used contrasts and lighting effects only to a limited extent. In later life his brushwork became somewhat looser and he apparently gained more self-confidence from his success.

Kever died in Laren in 1922, aged 67. In his memory the 'Hein Keverweg' in Laren was named after him.
