Description from the seller
Notable specimen of the officially classified Adrar 013 Moon Meteorite, stylishly presented in a luxurious floating display.
This specimen concerns an end cut (end piece) of the meteorite. One side has been professionally sawed and polished, revealing the internal structure of the moon meteorite. The remaining sides are preserved in their natural state, so both the original surface and the interior of the meteorite are visible.
Adrar 013 was found in 2023 in the province of Adrar, Algeria and is officially classified as a Lunar Melt Breccia. Moon meteorites form when a large impact rock from the lunar surface is flung into space. After a journey of millions of years a small portion of it ultimately reaches Earth.
