Wooden bas-relief panel - Radiant Virgin and Child - Baroque Style - 20th Century

Bas-relief wall plaque / religious sculpture.
Classic and dynamic representation of the Virgin Mary holding the Child Jesus against a background of divine radiance. The broad movement of the drapery is directly inspired by the Baroque style.

• Marks on the back: The reverse shows an intertwined artist monogram surmounting the number "76" carved with a gouge.
• Material: Solid monoxyle wood (oak or walnut) of good density. Finished stained to bring out the depth of the sculpture and the play of shadows.
• Mounting system: On the back there are two metal studs and a cord, added later to allow secure hanging.
• Dimensions: +/- 30 x 21.5

Good used condition. The panel is stable, with no major cracks. Beautiful patina and bright reflections on the sculpted front face. Some superficial signs of wear on the back (visible in photos).
