Description from the seller
Fabio Costantino – “The dome among the colors of the sea” – 40 × 30 cm
A cluster of light-colored buildings tightens along a slope, outlining a fishing village dominated by a golden dome. The composition alternates luminous walls, rosy-tinted roofs, dark openings, and blue shadow areas, building the architectures through broad brushstrokes and essential forms. The buildings seem to rise from the color, preserving the recognizability of the landscape and, at the same time, a strong expressive freedom.
The sea and the sky occupy the left side with patches of azure, turquoise, and deep blue. The geometric variations of the background dialogue with the arrangement of the houses, creating a balance between open space and urban density. In the foreground, the vegetation introduces bright greens and intense reds, which enliven the ivory and ochre tones of the façades.
The dome constitutes the focal point of the view: its rounded shape interrupts the sequence of angles and gathers warm light. The work offers a gathered and vibrant vision of the Mediterranean landscape, in which architecture becomes memory of light, color and proximity to the sea.
