Nicole Lubbers is a Dutch visual artist from the eastern part of the country. She is known for her innovative and idiosyncratic approach to art and works with various styles, techniques and forms of imagery. Her international career has developed strongly in recent years. Lubbers was proclaimed Artist of the Year 2024 at the Belgrade Biennale, received the Institutional Award of the Municipality of Montecosaro and achieved second place at the World Art Awards as Most Innovative Artist 2024. Additionally, she was listed among the 100 best female artists in the world and recognized as Master in Art.

Internationally her work has been shown and planned for exhibitions in New York, Venice, Florence, Belgrade, Belgium, China and Montecosaro, alongside exhibitions in Dutch galleries.

A particular highlight is Beyond the Surface, a solo exhibition on Times Square in New York. In addition, Nicole presents together with artist Michael Lam the exhibition Harmony in Motion: Two Artists, One Vision. Two different artistic worlds come together and form a joint dialogue around movement, color, creativity and transformation.

Delivery and presentation

The artwork is delivered unframed and without a wooden frame. You receive the canvas carefully rolled, so you can determine yourself how you want to present the artwork.

You can, for example, have the canvas framed or stretched by a professional framer onto a stretcher frame.

Important when stretching: keep in mind that for stretching the canvas, at least 5 cm of extra canvas on each side is required. This margin is necessary to fold and secure the fabric properly around the stretcher frame. Therefore, when determining the final size, allow for a minimum 5 cm extra margin on the top, bottom, left and right sides.

Besides her work as a visual artist, Nicole Lubbers is also known as a doll maker.
