Description from the seller

Egyptian Necklace – Eye of Horus – The Shield of the Pharaohs Against the Evil Eye.

This necklace bears the legendary Eye of Horus (Oudjat) adorned with movable pendants and a dark pupil, a powerful royal protection talisman, of regeneration and clairvoyance, mounted on deep blue lapis lazuli beads.

In the sanctuaries of ancient Egypt, the Eye of Horus — named Oudjat, meaning “the eye made whole and healed” — is the most revered of all pharaonic amulets. Born from the mythical struggle between the hawk god Horus and the forces of disorder, this divine eye was restored by Thoth to become the absolute symbol of integrity regained, of victory over chaos, and of unfailing clairvoyance.

The golden setting reproduces the piercing gaze of the celestial falcon: the textured brow frames a dark pupil that catches the light, while the three suspended drops recall the ritual marks of Horus’s plumage. These movable pendants swing with the body's rhythm, turning away harmful influences and maintaining an active vigilance around the wearer.

The pendant naturally complements the royal blue of the lapis-lazuli. In the adornments of Theban and Alexandrian pharaohs, solar gold and celestial lapis-lazuli were inseparable: they united the vital heat of the sun of Re with the infinite wisdom of the starry vault.

Worn close to the body, this talisman grants its holder sharpened lucidity and a protective ward against the adversities of the world. It promotes the regeneration of personal energies, dispels uncertainties, and accompanies each day with a noble, assured, and protected presence.

The Oudjat Eye: The Amulet of Healing and Integrity
The Oudjat is Horus’s restored gaze, a symbol of physical and spiritual plenitude. Worn by the living to preserve health and placed on the pharaohs’ chests to guide their passage into the afterlife, this emblem embodies the ability to endure trials and emerge strengthened with renewed vision.

The Three Movable Drops and the Shadow Pupil: The Active Rampart
The teardrop-shaped pendants evoke the lacrimal plumes characteristic of the peregrine falcon, Horus’s avatar. Their permanent mobility traditionally serves to capture the gaze of the envious and blunt its impact, while the central dark spot focuses the wearer’s lucidity and attention.

Gold and Lapis-Lazuli: The Alliance of the Nile Gods
Regarded by Egyptian priests as the very substance of the gods’ hair, lapis-lazuli is the stone of truth and celestial justice (Ma’at). Coupled with bright gold, embodying the indestructible flesh of the solar gods, it gives this necklace the aura of royal jewels recovered from the tombs of the Valley of the Kings.
