Lings 21 prix chronostop watch, Swiss telemeter, OC cal 120, men’s manual-wind movement in a brass 37 mm case with a white dial and a rally leather strap, produced around 1965 and in very good condition with minor wear.
Description from the seller
Lings 21 brand watch, Swiss chronostop model dating from the 1960s.
Given its age, apart from micro-scratches on the glass (especially at the center and barely visible depending on the viewing angle), the watch is in very good visual condition (see photos that belong to the description).
The watch is sold as-is: not serviced by a professional watchmaker who alone can guarantee its long-term proper functioning. In the meantime, it has been tested for 10 hours with good timekeeping.
Warning: a chronostop is different from a chronograph: there is no automatic zero return (unless you reset all hands to 12 o'clock yourself, which then allows using the watch as a chronometer).
Model used notably by doctors to measure operation durations or by athletes.
- Case 37 mm excluding crown;
- lug-to-lug height: 45 mm;
- thickness: about 12.1 mm;
- strap width 18 mm and interlug spacing 20 mm;
- overall length (watch + strap): about 24 cm;
- not water resistant;
- Lapanouse movement / Swiss hand-winding calibre (18000 A/h);
- the two pushers are perfectly functional: note that the top pusher stops the seconds hand BUT ALSO the movement (so if it is kept pressed for more than about 30 seconds, it will be necessary to reset the time);
- the small counter at left reads counterclockwise and counts down the hours, expect about 9 graduations for 1 hour;
- new leather rally-type strap;
- gold-tone hour markers in relief;
- red telemeter scale and blue tachymeter scale with a nice cream white dial.
A beautiful original piece for collectors.
