Description from the seller

This lot features two cased and cut crystal table ashtrays from the famous Belgian Val Saint Lambert crystal manufactory, perfectly illustrating the geometric cutting mastery characteristic of the brand. The first and larger model boasts a stunning emerald green hue and showcases a rich pattern of deep cuts forming a frieze of stylized diamond points and ogives that intensely capture light, completed by a radiant cut star beneath its base. The second, more compact ashtray, comes in an elegant fuchsia pink or cranberry shade and is adorned with a cut pattern of wide circular lenses alternating with vertical flat ribs of clear crystal. The large green ashtray measures 7 cm in height with an upper diameter of 16 cm and has an individual weight of 1000 g. The smaller red ashtray features a height of 5 cm with an upper diameter of 11 cm and weighs 800 g, bringing the combined total weight of this lot to 1800 g on the scale. Both pieces retain their original metallic paper label affixed to the outer wall. Additionally, the green model features the prestigious cursive handwritten signature “Val St Lambert M” engraved at the tip under its base, certifying its execution or inspection by a Master glassmaker of the manufactory, while the red model carries no engraved signature apart from its label. Regarding their condition, the green piece is in very good overall condition with no flaws, while the red piece shows normal signs of use with a few superficial scratches and some subtle micro-chips to note along its cut edges. Shipping is exclusively reserved for continental members of the European Union, and no delivery can be guaranteed to island destinations or overseas territories.
