Description from the seller
Antique coral rosary – 1930s – .800 silver medal dated 1939 and period box
Fascinating antique rosary from the 1930s, composed of coral beads in warm red-orange tones, connected by a delicate metal chain. The slight irregularities of the beads and the nuances of the coral give the piece an authentic character and refined elegance.
The rosary features a central medal with a religious depiction and a terminal circular medal, decorated in relief with a guardian angel and a child. The terminal medal is in silver, with the stamp “800” visible in the photographs, indicating a fineness of 800 thousandths.
On the back of the latter is engraved the date 25.2.1939, a striking detail that testifies to a moment in the object's personal history, whose original meaning is not known.
The contrast between the warm coral tones and the medal details gives the piece a particular charm, making this rosary an interesting example of a devotional object from the early 20th century.
Accompanied by its period box, which enhances its charm and collectible interest.
Weight: 14 g.
Box dimensions: 7.5 x 4 x 1.5 cm.
An object rich in character, destined for enthusiasts of antique rosaries, coral and small religious antiquities; a precious testimony of devotion and memory.
The photographs are an integral part of the description.
Tracked and insured shipping, adequate packing.
