Mason - Lantern - Brass, Glass, Metal

Offered: A beautiful and ingenious vintage ‘Constant-Flame’ candle lamp from the well-known Mason brand (Model/Reference No. 541). These lamps were manufactured by Standex International Ltd. in Stockport (Great Britain) and in the previous century imported for the Dutch market by the renowned hospitality supplier Duni from Zwijndrecht.
The lamp has a very recognizable Mid-Century Modern appearance, strongly inspired by the iconic Scandinavian designs of the time (such as Hans-Agne Jakobsson).
The mechanism (Constant-Flame):
This model works with a unique and functional spring system in the brass inner sleeve. As the candle burns down, the internal spring gradually pushes the candle upward against the top brass cap. This keeps the flame always at exactly the same height in the middle of the glass shade, providing a constant and safe light with no sooting on the glass.

• Glass shade: Executed in atmospheric amber/honey-colored glass. Fully intact, no cracks, some chips at the bottom. Not disturbing.
• Fittings/Armature: Brass base and details combined with a white column. The original lacquer finish is still present. With some signs of use
• Mechanism: The internal spring system and the bayonet closure of the sleeve are in good working order.
• Base: Equipped with the original, fully legible warning and authenticity sticker from Mason/Duni (Zwijndrecht).
