Description from the seller
Panini Euro 96 – Football European Championship 1996 England – complete album with no entries and glued in with the original order form. Album from my own collection in very good condition!
The official collecting album for the 1996 European Football Championship in England ("Football has come home") is a classic among collectors. It was Panini's first EM album since EM 1988 and marked the start of the ongoing EM collecting album series.
- Title page: EURO 96 emblem, tournament logo (tournament name “UEFA European Championship 1996" or “European Football Championship") with the official mascot “Goaliath” – the very first EM mascot, a cheeky football goalkeeper fantasy creature
- Format: about A4 size, softcover, stapled, with inserted order coupons/adhesive sheet system
- Panini-typical collectible cards (stickers), to be pasted into the pre-printed, numbered fields
- Content:
- **Tournament overview:** Venues (including Wembley, Old Trafford, Villa Park, Anfield), tournament format with the 16 participants (first EM with 16 teams)
- **Team pages:** Per nation a double page with team photo, player portraits, coach (e.g., Berti Vogts for Germany), jerseys/team badge
- **Special stickers:** Host nation England, EM history, trophy (Henri Delaunay Trophy), referees or star ensemble pages
Germany were European champions on 30 June 1996 at Wembley Stadium – 2:1 after extra time against the Czech Republic thanks to Oliver Bierhoff’s first Golden Goal in an EM.
