Armand Rousseau Lavaux Saint Jacques Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru, 2015 vintage, 0.75 L bottles, 2 bottles.
Description from the seller
The Domaine Armand Rousseau Pere et Fils winery was founded in the early 20th century by Armand Rousseau, who, at just 18 years old, inherited his father’s vineyard. Over the years he added new plots, such as the parcel in Charmes-Chambertin in 1919, Clos de la Roche in 1920, and in 1940 Mazoyères-Chambertin.
His son Charles and later his grandson, Eric, have taken charge of the winery, with the recent addition of the great-granddaughter Cyrielle. The winery currently spans a total vineyard area of 14 hectares, of which 2 hectares are municipal-level vineyards, 3 hectares are premier-class vineyards, and 8 hectares are classified as AOC (Controlled Designation of Origin). The average vine age ranges from 40 to 45 years and the grape variety is 100% Pinot Noir.
Thanks to the joint effort of four generations of the Rousseau family, the quality of the wines produced by Aman Rousseau has remained constant and enjoys wide international recognition. The winery produces many great wines, such as this Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru Lavaux Saint Jacques from this lot, consisting of two vintages, one bottle of 2015 and another of 2016.
It is an elegant red wine that presents fruity aromas of raspberries and cherries, with tertiary hints of leather, cinnamon, and dark chocolate. On the palate it has a firm, elongated texture with a persistent and complex finish.
This wine has earned more than 95 points from renowned wine critics such as Robert Parker Team and Wine Spectator for many years.
The bottles have always been stored in a climate-controlled cellar and are in perfect condition.
