Ivan Yvess (XX) - The Cavalier

An equestrian scene depicting a mounted officer on a white horse beside an ancient stone structure, overlooking a tranquil lake and a mountainous landscape beneath a softly clouded sky.

The painting’s overriding theme is a romantic journey through antiquity, presented as a classical historical equestrian landscape. Unfortunately, the artist’s identity could not be confirmed.

The painting requires restoration. A small puncture is visible to the right of the stone pillar, and there are signs of wear around the edges of the canvas.
