Description from the seller

Chord
In this work I address the notion of chord beyond its musical dimension, understanding it as a relationship between heterogeneous elements whose coexistence produces a unity that does not erase their differences. The angelic figure and the lyre constitute the axis of a composition in which image, symbol, and matter converge without fully resolving their meaning.
I am especially interested in the relationship between the monochromatic containment of the figure and the intrusion of red into the instrument. This contrast introduces a deliberate visual dissonance: the lyre ceases to be merely an iconographic attribute to acquire autonomy within the pictorial structure, concentrating an intensity that alters the reading of the whole.
My approach starts from an image linked to tradition, but it does not aim to reproduce it as a repertoire of immutable meanings. I am interested in subjecting its codes to a new formal relation, where the spiritual, the material, and the sensible remain in an unstable balance. The angel does not function solely as a representation of the transcendent, just as the lyre is not limited to symbolizing music; both participate in a relationship in which each element modifies the perception of the other.
I therefore understand the chord as a structure of correspondences: a provisional coincidence between different forces, a harmony that does not exclude tension, but is constituted through it.
Thus, the work offers a reflection on the possibility of achieving unity without recourse to homogeneity. In that space of correspondences, painting becomes a place where differences are not dissolved, but find a way to coexist.

Alejandro Carballosa, visual artist and Cuban designer based in Spain, with a career marked by the exploration of strength, emotion, and beauty in animal and human figures. His work combines technical realism with a contemporary vision, where color, light, and movement acquire a symbolic and expressive language.
Trained in visual arts and design, he integrates the aesthetic sensitivity of classical art with modern resources, creating pieces that balance energy and introspection.
His work has been shown in group and solo exhibitions, and is part of private collections in Germany and the United States
