Description from the seller
Of English origin, Adrian Mallinson successfully exhibited in London still lifes in gouache and pencil before settling in Paris where he lives and works.
He has regularly exhibited in Paris for 25 years, but his style and themes have evolved.
One senses, in any case, solid foundations.
Perhaps he was influenced by a father who taught at the Beaux‑Arts in London?
His work reveals, in any case, his taste for modern art with a predilection for Matisse and Cubism, directions that can be found in his painting even though his personal style, oscillating between figuration and abstraction, is already established.
He has developed larger acrylic paintings of Paris monuments, streets and canals of Venice, Greek landscapes, as well as purely abstract compositions.
Color and light are at the heart of his paintings, often executed by hand and with a brush to achieve very blended and subtle effects. His original canvases with a beautiful fluidity seem to float nicely in the air!
