Description from the seller
Of English origin, Adrian Mallinson has successfully exhibited still lifes in gouache and pencil in London before settling in Paris, where he lives and works.
He has been regularly exhibiting in Paris for 25 years, but his style and themes have evolved. One can sense, in any case, solid foundations. Perhaps he is influenced by a father who taught at the Beaux-Arts in London?
His work reveals, at least, a taste for modern art with a predilection for Matisse and Cubism, tendencies that appear in his painting even though his personal style, oscillating between figuration and abstraction, is already established. He has developed larger acrylic paintings of Parisian monuments, of streets and canals of Venice, of Greek landscapes, as well as purely abstract compositions.
Color and light are at the heart of his paintings, often executed by hand with a brush to achieve very blended and subtle effects. His original canvases with a beautiful fluidity seem to float happily in the air!
