In Golden Rhythm, Dutch artist Swen van der Sangen explores the relationship between rhythm, texture and refined simplicity. Through a carefully balanced composition of vertical golden elements against a rich burgundy background, the artwork captures a sense of movement, elegance and quiet strength.

The deep burgundy canvas forms a warm and sophisticated foundation, enriched by expressive brushstrokes and subtle variations in texture. Rising across the surface, nine individually textured golden lines create a striking visual rhythm. Each line differs in length, thickness and character, introducing a natural sense of movement within the otherwise minimal composition.

The contrast between the rich, matte background and the luminous gold gives the work its distinctive presence. Graduating from the Maastricht Academy of Fine Arts in 2014, Van der Sangen brings a decade of experience in luxury fashion design to his visual art.
