Antique belt hook for a chatelaine in gilded bronze, decorated in relief in full rococo taste (Louis XV style). The chatelaine was the accessory that ladies attached to the belt to keep small objects hanging by chains close at hand: keys, scissors, thimbles, watch, seals.

The front plaque is richly adorned: a central cartouche with volutes and shells, with a winged putto holding a garland of flowers, floral tendrils on the background, bouquets of flowers and animal heads at the sides. At the bottom, at both corners, you can find the two original holes to attach the chains.

On the back there is the spring-loaded tongue that slides into the belt, connected to the plaque by a hinge with a steel pin. The gilding is still bright and well preserved on the front.

This is a decorative and collectible item, perfect for those who collect antique fashion accessories, chatelaines, and small bronzes.
