Description from the seller

Monumental Kukri Sword (67 cm / 1.8 kg) – Huge Kothimora Presentation Version with richly decorated scabbard and 2 accompanying blades – Nepal, 2nd half of the 20th century.
Description:
For sale is an exceptionally large, massive, and imposing Kothimora Kukri from Nepal, which due to its monumental dimensions and weight possesses the scale of a true short sword. Such magnificent pieces were traditionally crafted by hand as representative status and ceremonial objects for high-ranking individuals or for special presentation purposes in elaborate craftsmanship.
The mighty, characteristically curved blade is a proud 46 cm long and on both sides almost completely engraved with elaborate, traditional ornaments. With a blade width of 6 cm and a total weight of 1.8 kg, this sword feels extremely hefty in the hand. The massive grip is made of polished brass (length: 17 cm) and is adorned with decorative rings. At the base of the blade is the traditional “Cho” notch (Kaudi).
The accompanying leather scabbard (width: 9 cm) is a handmade masterpiece: The front is adorned with richly decorated, chased brass and white metal fittings, displaying delicate floral patterns and traditional motifs. On the back are integrated pockets for the two original companion knives (the sharp Karda and the sharpening steel Chakmak), which are included in the set.
