Description from the seller
Elegant and large covered centerpiece dish (which can also serve as an apothecary jar or confectionery jar) in transparent blown glass. This 19th-century piece captivates with the purity of its lines and its sleek silhouette.
The body, of an inverted truncated-cone shape, rests on a circular molded foot with a central knop. It is topped by its original domed lid, crowned by a substantial solid glass knob in the shape of an arrowed button.
A magnificent piece of historic table art, ideal for outfitting a cabinet of curiosities, serving as a high-end candy jar, or bringing a touch of authenticity to a contemporary interior.
Manufacturing technique: Old mouth-blown glass. Presence of micro-bubbles of air and slight irregularities in the mass, characteristic and proof of the authenticity of artisanal work from the period.
Era: 19th century (Napoleon III period).
Good overall condition. Note that the top of the lid is chipped. No major cracks.
Careful packaging and prompt shipping.
