Daniele Masini, Il corpo come soglia, 2026, oil painting on canvas, original edition, 70 × 40 cm, signed by hand, Italy, Surrealism.
Description from the seller
The body as threshold presents itself as a complex visual construction in which the human figure loses any naturalistic definition to become a passage between physical dimension and interior dimension. The work develops a continuous tension between recognizability and dissolution of form, guiding the viewer into a space suspended between figuration and abstraction.
The composition is built through articulated and fragmented volumes that evoke a body curled up on itself. The limbs emerge and disappear in an architectural structure made of curves, edges, and overlapped surfaces, giving rise to a presence that seems to undergo a phase of metamorphosis. The body is not represented as a stable entity, but as a symbolic threshold through which memory, experience, and transformation manifest themselves.
With The Body as Threshold, Daniele Masini offers a reflection on the body understood not as simple physical presence, but as a permeable boundary between the visible and the invisible, between what appears and what belongs to the realm of interiority. The work invites the viewer to contemplate the ongoing process of transformation of the human being, where identity and perception are renewed ceaselessly in the dialogue between matter and imagination.
