History
The Omega Caliber 285 is a 17-jewel center-seconds movement that belongs to the brand's famous 30mm family, tracing its lineage directly back to the celebrated 30T2 from 1939. Operating at a frequency of 18,000 beats per hour, the manual-wind Caliber 285 was designed as the standard smooth-balance version of the 30mm family, built specifically for everyday reliability. Watches from this era represent a period when Omega was refining its classic dress models, resulting in enduring designs that continue to appeal to collectors today.
