Dial and Hands
The clean and striking dark grey to black dial features a refined vertical brushing technique. A date window at three o'clock displays striking red numerals, while the crisp white printed text remains highly legible against the dark surface. The dial presents beautifully with no visible spotting, staining, or damage. Above, the original silver-tone baton hands are in excellent condition, showing no visible corrosion or significant scratches. The luminous fill on the hands exhibits an even, mild aging, accompanied by a sweep center second hand.
Case and Crystal
The well-preserved vintage cushion case is crafted from stainless steel, featuring a brushed top surface that contrasts beautifully with the polished flanks. The case geometry is highly original, with edges that remain well-defined and sharp surface transitions intact. There are light superficial scratches consistent with careful wear, but no significant dents or deep dings are visible. The watch retains its characteristic faceted sapphire crystal, which is clear and free of any significant scratches, chips, or cracks. On the side, the crown features crisp knurled edges and is signed with the Rado anchor logo.
Movement
Inside the case is a gold-tone finished automatic movement, presenting a clean appearance with no visible corrosion or significant wear. The rotor is signed "Rado 25 Jewels," while the bridge is stamped with caliber 2797 and the base plate is stamped 2782 under the balance. +25+28s/day. Performing well within expected vintage tolerances; running strong and steady.
Strap
The watch is fitted with its original signed stainless steel multi-link bracelet, a fantastic addition that completes the aesthetic. The bracelet shows light surface wear consistent with the case and is secured by a clasp signed with the Rado seahorse emblem. It accommodates a maximum wrist size of 18cm.
Condition
Excellent vintage condition. The dial is remarkably clean with beautifully aged luminous material on the hands. The stainless steel cushion case retains strong lines and defined edges, showing only light superficial scratches consistent with careful wear. The original signed bracelet is similarly well-preserved. The movement is clean and visually excellent.
