Description from the seller

Photos are part of the description, for fans of the Limburg landscape,

A winter and a summer scene.

Hubertus Josephus (Jos) Frissen (Houthem, January 3, 1892 – Kerkrade, October 20, 1982) was a Dutch painter.

Life and work
Frissen was the son of Joannes Josephus Frissen, a contractor-mason (a company with about 20 employees) in Houthem-Sint Gerlach and Anna Maria Martens. He enrolled in 1914 at the Antwerp Art Academy, but could not go there due to the outbreak of World War I. He was mobilized as a soldier. After the war he developed as a self-taught artist, alongside his activities as an entrepreneur, initially in Houthem, later in Valkenburg.
Frissen painted landscapes, especially in Limburg and the Ardennes and also Southern Dutch folklore in an impressionistic style. In 1950 he founded the Valkenburg Art Circle 'Henri Jonas'. Frissen died in 1982, at the age of 90.

François Hubertus Cornelis Ronda was a Dutch artist. He was a painter, watercolourist, draftsman and wood engraver. He attended, in 1927, an education at the Middelbare Kunstnijverheidsschool Maastricht.
