Yves Offret (1946 – 2004)
Norman painter
Born in 1946, Yves Offret devoted his life to painting, developing a body of work deeply rooted in his native Normandy. His workshop, located in Conches-en-Ouche, was the site of a careful pictorial exploration of landscapes, changing lights and the atmospheres of the region.
In the 1980s, he notably exhibited at Galerie Tuffier in Les Andelys, where his work drew the attention of an audience sensitive to the poetry of his canvases. Faithful to a personal approach, Offret favors an intimate painting, where nature and scenes of daily life transform into delicate evocations, imbued with serenity.
Died in 2004, Yves Offret leaves behind a discreet but sincere body of work, testament to an artist’s attachment to his homeland and to the simple beauty of everyday life.
