ABOUT THE ARTWORK:
This artwork by Felix van Horst presents a vertically layered abstract composition built from fractured faces, oversized eyes, angular profiles, and interlocking geometric shapes. Deep cobalt and midnight blue dominate the background, contrasted by black, white, pale blue, ochre, and small orange accents. The overlapping forms create a dense visual structure in which facial fragments appear, merge, and recede across the surface. Rough painterly textures add energy and depth to the sharp geometry. This contemporary abstract art has a bold cubist character, combining expressive figuration with a mysterious, highly graphic visual rhythm.
