Description from the seller
Miguel de Miguel – International Visual Artist*
Miguel is a Spanish visual artist who began his career in 1980 and has developed a solid and emotionally intense career, recognized worldwide. He has exhibited in cities such as New York, Hong Kong, Paris, Buenos Aires and Mexico City, and his work is part of some of the most important international collections. He currently resides and creates in Italy.
His painting combines figure and abstraction with a language of its own, where vibrant color, symbolic forms and deep textures speak of identity, memory and inner silence. Faceless figures, symbolic natures and scenes suspended in time form a poetic and sensitive universe.
With more than four decades of creation, Miguel de Miguel offers a body of work that is not only observed: it is experienced from the most intimate. An art that crosses borders, styles and words.
In La complicidad, Miguel de Miguel builds an universe of figures where color becomes language and form the expression of what is essential. Four human presences, defined by bold contours and enigmatic faces, come together in a shared space that transcends conventional portraiture.
The blues, turquoises and greens establish a vibrant chromatic structure, pierced by bursts of red and orange that introduce tension, movement and vitality. The brushstroke, free and gestural, fragments the bodies and reconstructs them in a dynamic balance between abstraction and figuration.
The figures seem to keep a silent bond among themselves. They do not need to look at each other or reveal their emotions: their proximity is enough to suggest an intimate relationship, an affinity that remains beyond words. The light background, treated with spontaneity, acts as a breathing space and enhances the presence of the whole.
The work thus proposes a reflection on coexistence, identity and the invisible ties that bind people. Beneath the expressive force of color beats a deeply human idea: complicity as a silent form of belonging.
